The Caloosahatchee River is the region's Intracoastal Waterway, connecting Lake Okeechobee to Charlotte Harbor and Pine Island Sound. It offers access by boat to the Gulf of Mexico, beautiful Sanibel and Captiva Islands and Fort Myers Beach.
